The Industry Partnership Leader Award was presented to Capital Group in recognition of a series of succesfull industry partneships such as the development of LCO₂ carriers in partnership with Lloyd’s Register and HD Hyundai and the AiP for an ammonia-fueled vessel alongside ABS and Amogy. The judging committee also acknowledged our advance in scalable, zero-emissions vessel technologies, completing the first OPS compatibility check for 155,000 DWT tankers, and deploying carbon capture systems on four new LCO₂ ships. Industry collaborations for carbon capture solutions were also highlighted, alongside our alignment with global environmental goals such as IMO 2050, CARB, and the EU’s Fit for 55, and our achievement of key certifications and measurable sustainability results. Mr. Stergios Stergiou, Green Shipping & Sustainability Director, Capital Ship Management Corp., accepted the Industry Partnership Leader Award, commenting on our contribution to driving decarbonization through strong industry collaboration.
The Social Leader Award was presented to Capital Group for the introduction of Europe’s first Extended Reality bridge simulator, which combines real equipment with immersive simulation to enhance crew preparedness and reduce emissions linked to traditional training. The award also recognized the rescue of nearly 600 lives at sea through international search and rescue operations, as well as our crews’ ongoing participation in the AMVER system and the international commendations received. Further acknowledgment was given to our use of Extended Reality tools to monitor skill development, and the honors received from both the U.S. Coast Guard and the Republic of the Marshall Islands for our measurable contribution to social impact at sea.
Mr. Panagiotis Drosos, Chief Operating Officer, Capital Ship Management Corp., accepted the Social Leader Award, stating that we are proud to stand alongside peers who share the same vision for a better, more responsible industry.
